Chairman of the Board of Directors
Tom received a B.S. degree in Accounting with Special Attainments in Commerce from Washington and Lee University. Tom joined Duer/Carolina Coil in 1985, and became Chief Executive Officer in 1992. Tom and his wife, Patty, have now been married for over 40 years and along with their two daughters and six grandchildren are proud to be fifth, sixth, and seventh generation shareholders of the Company.
Chief Executive Officer / President
Rick has been at Duer/Carolina Coil for 18 years, working primarily in Manufacturing, Process Improvement, and Quality. Rick graduated from the United States Naval Academy with his B.S. in Naval Architecture and went on to earn his M.B.A. from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He has been married to his wife, Jennifer, since 1994. Together, they are the proud parents of Christian, Anna Beth, and Jack.
Jay joined Duer/Carolina Coil in 1996 after graduating from Clemson University with his B.S. in mechanical engineering. He is active with his church, Taylors First Baptist, as a Sunday School teacher. Jay is married and has three daughters and one son. When he isn’t at work, Jay enjoys volunteering at his church and children’s school. He also likes spending time with his family and working on cars.
Business Development Manager
Jeff’s focus is primarily on valve actuators and process-related applications. Jeff has been on the Duer/Carolina Coil team for 27 years. He earned his degree in Economics from Wofford College. Jeff is married to Betsy, and together they have three children: Sydney, Micah, and Noah. Jeff likes spending time outdoors with his family and two dogs.
Nathan brings years of engineering experience to the Duer/Carolina Coil team. earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University. He and his wife, LaRee, have been married for 18 years and have three daughters: Emily, Evie, and Jenna. In his spare time, Nathan likes reading, spending time with his family, and honing his musical talents — specifically drums and guitar.
Customer Service/Shipping Coordinator
Rita is dedicated to our relationships with our clients. In addition, she oversees stocking programs and logistics. Rita brings more than 30 years of experience to the Duer/Carolina Coil team. Before she started with Duer/Carolina Coil, she earned her Associate’s Degree in Business. Rita is actively involved with View Church, where she sings in the choir. She has one son with her husband of 40 years.
Customer Service Representative
As a customer service representative, Lauren works to ensure that our customers and potential customers are satisfied and cared for. Prior to entering this role, Lauren worked on Duer/Carolina Coil’s production team for four years. Lauren is a proud parent to her daughter, Violet. When she’s not in the office, she likes to take her daughter to the movies, go to the zoo, travel, and hang out with her Great Dane, Mia.
Inside Sales Representative
Eddie works primarily with our automotive customers. He started at Duer/Carolina Coil in 1989 after he earned his B.S. in Business from the University of South Carolina. When he isn’t at work, Eddie is an active member of his congregation at Mt. Joy Baptist Church. He has been married to Karla for 41 years, and they have one son. Eddie loves to travel and spend his free time out on the lake.
Inside Sales Representative
Patti is focused on Duer/Carolina Coil’s relationships with international customers. She has been with Duer/Carolina Coil for 27 years. Patti has been married to her husband Randy for 29 years. She is the proud mother of two children, Casey and Nicholas. Patti also has a dog named Max who has more energy than anyone else in her house.
Sam has his bachelor’s degree from Auburn University. He has held many roles over the last 16 years with his focus in Production, Maintenance, and Sales. Starting in 2003 as a production intern, Sam was hired full-time as a production supervisor in May 2006. Later that year, he made the transition to maintenance manager, where he worked for nearly 10 years. In early 2016, Sam shifted to our outside sales department and in 2020 accepted the position of Production Manager. He loves movies, history, sports, gardening, and spending time with his wife, two kids, and dog Bo.
Human Resources Representative
Jacklyn maintains our human resources department by building relationships with our employees as well hiring new talent. She also assists with Duer/Carolina Coil’s marketing efforts. Jacklyn started at Duer/Carolina Coil in 2015 after graduating from USC Upstate with her Bachelor’s degree in Business. Jacklyn enjoys spending her free time with her husband, daughter, and two dogs.
